I’ve got a better way
‘How many hearts have you broken?’ I asked, not missing a beat. ‘Because I would bet money on the number being higher than mine.’
‘You would, would you?’
‘Thousand percent,’ I said with confidence. ‘I want a ballpark figure. No need to give me an exact one. I’m sure you don’t know it, anyway.’
‘You seem so sure of yourself.’
‘Oh, I am.’ I nodded. ‘So what we talking? Ten? Twenty? Fifty?’
‘You’re not gonna leave this alone, are you?’
‘The only way to shut me up is to answer the question, Gray, or take a swig and put yourself out of this misery.’
‘I’ve got a better way to shut you up,’ he said, throwing the bottle to the ground and stepping closer to me.
