The One That Got Away
‘Fudging wonderful,’ the girl growled, and I knew I recognised that voice.
‘Atticus?’ I squinted, looking at the hair and the body I could see, and trying to figure out whether the face hidden behind those hands was one I thought I’d never see again.
‘Yep,’ she grunted, the sound muffled through her hands. ‘Now, go away.’
‘I came over here to help,’ I told her, amused that she thought I’d just walk away now that I knew it was her. Little did she know, I still fantasised about her and what we’d had together. She was the one who got away, and I’d never been able to explain to her the full truth.
